    I love those microcars! What a shame people are so obsessed by safety and features these days to prevent them from being viable manufacturing proposition nowadays. The Smart’s all very well but it’s a vastly overcomplex solution to the problem of moving one to two people around towns with a little luggage. (And I’d love a Piaggio Ape, but they’re far too expensive in this country…)

      They’d be a lot more practical if everyone had one, but given that we’ve now managed to fill our roads with lorries, even the beamers and mercs everyones driving these days come off pretty badly when things go wrong.

      Still, maybe one day we’ll run out of oil properly and they’ll be the only way we can get around.
