Gripsholms Slott is on the edge of the small town of Mariefred – we visited the castle last time, but not the town. Its a quaint little town on the waterfront with a view to the castle.

It was nice to see some street cars taking a run on the strip – the 9000s especially made good time, around 12 seconds standing quarter mile is not too shabby for a 10 year old stock car. Though I doubt mine will do that without a little tuning.

After waiting in the queue its time to step forward and warm your tyres for the take off.

A traffic queue like none I have ever seen, thousands of horsepower lined up waiting for burnout and take off.

This is where all that raw power comes into its own, the chassis twisting as thousands of horsepower is pushed through the rubber propelling the cars forward to cover a quarter mile in as little as 6 seconds.

We went to the Drag Racing event at Eskiltuna Flygplats.

The bridge between Hornstull and Liljeholmen was looking quite sinister.
