  1. Cars are bound to last a lot longer in places like California with no winter, no salt on the roads and a lot less rain. The biggest car killers are corrosion and temperature changes.

    • Sure, but if they’re lasting longer there they’ll last longer here too. And lets face it my car has had exposed metal on its bonnet since I bought it more than four years ago and while it has rusted thats not perforated yet so (here at least) corrosion isn’t that big a deal if the mechanics are sound.
