Cars are bound to last a lot longer in places like California with no winter, no salt on the roads and a lot less rain. The biggest car killers are corrosion and temperature changes.

  Sure, but if they’re lasting longer there they’ll last longer here too. And lets face it my car has had exposed metal on its bonnet since I bought it more than four years ago and while it has rusted thats not perforated yet so (here at least) corrosion isn’t that big a deal if the mechanics are sound.
