A digital misfit

This article makes me feel quite righteous about getting a fairly steady 35mpg out of my gas guzzler, now admittedly I tend to do longer, out-of-town journeys which pushes that up a bit but still I have to try real hard to get down to 21mpg.

    • Of course, they have different size gallons…but even so thats still not very efficient for the *average*….for some reason I tend to see my 2.0 Laguna as something of an ineffiecient monster of a car, but I guess it’s not that bad really.

        • Nice car though it is, it is fairly high on the list of gratuitous petrol consumption…and even that doesn’t really get anywhere close to the guys across the pond.

  1. Diesel had that reputation here until fairly recently too. Theres still some problems when people who are used to petrol cars try to accellerate hard, pushing the revs up leaves a cloud of black smoke. I assume the turbos reduce that problem a bit, but theres still quite a lot of it about.

Personally I prefer the performance I get from my petrol engine, but thats getting rivalled by modern diesels.
