  1. dave?

off topic… what’s your bluetooth gps thingy again? i want one that has good battery life, and records a log file that can be transferred to a pc. i’m thinking that just a non-bt handheld one may be all that i need.

the application is to write a python script that grabs the coordinates for the time found in the exif data of an image, and then to add those coordinates back into the exif data. then it can be uploaded to geobloggers.

    • Its one that came with Route66, not sure who made it off-hand.

They all talk pretty much the same language anyway, NMEA 1.2 or somesuch, so it doesn’t matter which one you get as long as its got serial (or serial emulation like bluetooth) output.

I was thinking about some kind of geo/photo thing, my mother is involved with the historical photo group in the town where I grew up and I’d wondered about taking scans of all the old photos linked to a map so you could see a history of places. Mixing that with a current-day survey/log of changes would create a useful historical record.

      Would like to hear more.
