        That is interesting, but wrong-headed at the same time. Interestingly, if you remove a cockroach’s head (according to The Red Hourglass, by Gordon Grice), it will still function blindly but normally until it dies of starvation. That would scupper their research, methinks.

        I still can’t feel that sorry for the bugger though, having found more than a few in a cabin I was kipping in in Guatemala…

        • I’d cheerfully exterminate any number of roaches if they were infesting my home, but depriving one of its freedom like this seems cruel to me.
