A digital misfit

Defecting

I just ordered a MiniMac…

Edit: and I got to be “Dear Not specified Neil Hopcroft,” …you’d’ve thought they’d’ve learned after the “Not specified Richard Kettlewell” experience….

    • I saw the light a while ago, but they were still charging silly amounts for the ‘whole apple experience’ with carefully design mice and things, I got boxes full of redundant mice and a stack of monitors I don’t need to buy the apple ones…just the box, thats all I need.

  1. I blame the taxman, giving me incentives to spend money on this sort of thing before the year end…50% first year write-down, I think I’ll have a bit of that…

  2. Why not? I see myself doing various software related things, so the more experience I have of building for different platforms the better. Got most of the options, but will probably have some grief with keyboards and things…

  3. Tempting, but I’ve already got a room-full of PCs, I’m not sure I need any more. Well, not until the next upgrade round comes to sensible pricing.

  4. Problem with the shuttles (and such) is the remarkably small number of disks they’ll take. Which is OK for a node but it’d never do for a server (for me)

  5. Totally agree with quiet – and theres certainly a place for those ikkle boxes. Depends what you’re doing I suppose…
