I’ve just downloaded my life. Well, the last couple of years of it at least. The 6A/LJ news has finally pushed me to figuring out how to download all the entries I’ve made here. You can do it too

wget --http-user neilh -i /cygdrive/c/users/neilh/Livejournal/JournalMonths.url -r -l 1 --load-cookies "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\01w2u83b.slt\cookies.txt"

and a .url file containing lines like:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/neilh/2003/04/

for the approriate username and month. I’m using the cygwin wget, and my Mozilla cookie file, so all the private/friends only posts come too (not that theres actually that many of those).

675 entries, 20Mb including comments.
