new alice donut album – three sisters

Reformed, and playing a gig in london… Their 1000th gig (when they split in 96) was a stormer, supported by zeni geva, a kind of japanese wyld stallyns, who did a 20 minute sound check before clearing and letting the donut on stage.

    Oooh, Alice Donut.

In other news, where are you mostly based at the moment ? was asking me yesterday and I had no idea… though Lord knows why he was posting on my LJ to find out, instead of posting on yours!

    • He’s a massive hairy beast of a man, with an unpleasant disposition

Who did the original of that song?

I’m not sure I’m mostly based anywhere, right now I’m in Kent, but that’s hardly likely to last forever, I should be heading back east over the weekend sometime, but before that maybe there’ll be a trip up to Cambridgeshire – though I suspect it’ll be the kind of flying visit where I spend two hours in vacinity then jet off halfway around the world.

Speaking of which, sorry I ended up not getting to see you again after the Kite last week – have to catch up properly at some point.

Hey, what you doing listening to Alice Donut, anyway? Nobody else has heard of them, despite them being one of the best bands in the world. And I only gave them a listen when my mate Dave lent me ‘Bucketfuls of sickness and horror in an otherwise meaningless universe’ because I liked the title.

I seem to remember sharing a house with somebody who had just found the Faith No More version of that, who was even more taken by the AD version.

I’m sadly uninformed about Alice Donut really – my knowledge is pretty much limited to My Boyfriend’s Back, and their cover of… er… that song. Thing. Y’know. Wotsits gathered in their masses.
