Neil Hopcroft

A digital misfit

Who is Little My? I can’t identify you from the little information I have. Do you know me? …you’ve commented on this journal a couple of times now and it would be nice to know who you are. Mail me if you’d rather not leave such details in a comment here, or if you would prefer to either stay anonymous or leave me guessing, that is fine too.

A note to other non-livejournal members: this journal is (mostly) public and allows anonymous posting (which means you can post without an lj membership, these posts are currently unscreened, but that might change if the spamload goes up), don’t be afraid to comment if there is something you would like to say, or something you would like to ask me…if I know who you are I’ll (try to remember to) email the response as well as putting it a reply comment.

Yeah you do know me from your university days. Mr Hudson put onto this whole LJ thing. I’d like just to lurk if it is ok?

        Marvelous Mr Chips

That’s never Chip as in ‘let’s monitor the mid Atlantic ridge near Iceland and get a PhD while I’m at it’? If it is, I never did thank him properly for that life saving cheese on toast on the way back from The Sisters.

Things are going fine. It’s kinda spooky that you were living down the road from me recently (I’m in Wantage). Working for the Environment Agency. Finally married to Stout, an ex Sounds journalist, after being together for 10 years. Music tastes have broadened. Went all corporate for a while but I’m feeling much better now. Mum dying a few years ago made me re think a few things.

Oxford is the big city to us rural folk. We’ve found the Gloucester and the Zodiac. Any where else you’d recommend?

The same Mr Chip! I’m not really in touch with anyone else, though, vaguely keep up with Dave Wraight and Smiff, but not seen either for years. Chip is better at keeping in touch with people.

Yeah, I was living here (well, to be fair, I was in the gatehouse, not the main house, but I couldn’t find a picture of that), its in Buckland, halfway between Wantage and Witney, just along the A420 from Kingston Bagpuss.

What are you doing for the environment agency? Where is that based?

Stout sounds cool, if slightly oddly named….Sounds was by far the best of the music press, shame it closed down, I think I’ve still got the last issue ever somewhere.

As for entertainments in Oxford-ish…not sure, really, you could try the oxgoth list, I’m subscribed but can’t send since my mailserver talks Japanese at the moment, I’m OK when I’m back in GSM coverage. Or go to Intrusion – if you ask for Sophie at the door, she can introduce you to some of the people there, you’d get on with Hugh and Ed, I don’t know who else still goes. Tell her I say “Hi”.
