A digital misfit

Should I buy a laptop now?

If I do, I would get one with manuals I can understand. And I could set it up before I go.

If I leave it til I get to Japan, it’ll probably work out cheaper (if I can avoid any of their gaijin rip-off specials) and I wouldn’t have to arse about with taking it on the plane.

Decsions, decisions.

  1. No wait till Japan. And then wait a day there because ti will be cheper tomorrow then it is today 9the wanders of a deflationairy economny).

As for the manual would you read it? If you did read it would the really poor transalation from Japanese make it unreadable anyway? If you get one in Japanesse it would be a good excuse to learn the language.

  2. Get it in Japan! That way, not only do you get to harness some of the ridiculous technology that never seems to make it over here, but you can also have hours of fun running the manual through babelfish for an ‘accurate’ translation. It’s always a laugh, anyway . . .
