A digital misfit

Smell of female

…by the Cramps, *rocks*

Project to digitise my vinyl coming along, got as far as Helloween for the recording, as far as the Cramps for mp3ing….

Not sure this is a particularly professional job but my ears aren’t that fussy…

    • Hello….got pursuaded to join by Mindygoth…

I’d forgotten just how poodlehaired Helloween were in the days of the ‘keeper of the seven keys parts 1 & 2’, and I seem to remember them being quite normal looking at the time.

  1. Nothing exciting – just plugging the stereo into the line-in on the soundcard. The amp has a preamp in and the soundcard is nothing special – just a soundblaster cheapish of some sort.

Results are variable but generally not so bad as to be really irritating…most of the sound problems come from the needle picking up dust rather than dodgy digitizing, you might get better for having a better card but for what I’m doing its not that big a deal.

Glad I upgraded the network to 100mpbs, it’d be hell transferring all that data onto this machine over 10mbps.

As for software, I’ve got a writer program (WinOnCD) that does a little decrackling, which is good enough for my purposes…again, theres probably better things out there if you care deeply about it. Me, I’m just glad of being able to listen to Culture Shocks “Colour TV” without the hassle of remembering how to run the record deck.
