Someone else has been flying puppies, I don’t feel quite so bad now.

I started the weekend as I often do, running late. I still arrived earlier than I was expected, and met our companion on the steps of redkitty23s flat. So we got talking and waited for our hostess to arrive.
The three of us headed out to Blenheim Palace to see it ‘dressed for christmas’, which seemed to consist of a tree in the entrance hall and a polishing off of the finest hogging irons. Still, the library was incredible, when I’m rich I’m going to live in a house with a gallery in its library.
Finding our way into the gift shop on the way out of the palace proved too much of a challenge in the end, so we went for a stroll around the town instead – where we found a dreadfully Chap-ish glove shop, sadly closing down. Where /is/ a gent supposed to get his deerstalker without such shops?
We stopped at the Trout on the way back into town for desert, a maze of twisty little rooms with real fires and a particularly slow desert delivery. Worth waiting for, though, I hear.
Then back to play with Dash before heading out to meet with Cat and edling, for a strange evening out. Good to catch up with them, but for some reason I’d expected there to be some more people there. Oxford, you’re all useless! We headed off to the Zodiac for the indie night, where the music was quite listenable but the crowd really made no sense at all – I have nothing in common with these people, full of their beer and drugs and hormones. I guess I’ve moved on.
Crashed at Eds place before hitting the road in the morning (afternoon, technically) when the hunger struck, and headed up to sushidogs tea party. Where everyone has an lj-tag of one sort or another (mostly forgotten in a haze of good buns). I witnessed an unsuccessful attempt at palming off a badger and awed at the lopsided funky mode, and was impressed by Firewater.
And now, I’m getting repeating nightmares about dropping puppies :(
I’m coming to the end of the Shadow of the American Dream, what do I read next? I’ve got three shelves full of books I’ve not read yet, but I’ve narrowed it down to a choice of three for the moment, but which should it be?
“Tempest for Eliza is a Program that uses your computer monitor to send out AM radio signals. You can then hear computer generated music in your radio….the problem is i cannot use the time when the electron beam does the blanking and retrace phase”
and
“Can you read this? This image was captured with the help of a light sensor from the high-frequency fluctuations in the light emitted from a cathode ray tube computer monitor.”
Any Oxford people got crash space I could use tomorrow night?
“William Heath, is… creating an online Kafkaesque nightmare” and a nice rant about the efficiency of the government, from a voice on the inside…
“They have designed a mobile phone case or cover that when discarded can be placed in compost in such a way that just weeks later the case will begin to disintegrate and turn into a flower.”
