Neil Hopcroft

A digital misfit

It seems the New Scientist have lost it. That, or they’ve found an RSS feed they don’t like and are giving it rubbish:

– ‘Blueberries’ are answer to key Mars puzzle
– RFID chips watch Grandma brush teeth
– Space dust to unlock Mexican pyramid secrets

Has it always been this mad? Was I always too tied up in the science they were describing to notice?

  1. Well, every so often in the staff room here we play the Incredible game, whereby three people search three publications for the most incredible (in the “I can’t believe it” sense of the word incredible) story. The three publications are usually Weekly World News, Fortean Times and New Scientist.

NS wins a lot more often than you might think.

  2. Damn your eyes! Now I want to rush out and read these stories! I’ve always resisted buying NS because it comes out every week and I’d never be able to keep up…
