What was she doing in the war? Dunno whether anything has happened, someone mentioned something about her dying, but I figured I’d missed it….I’m not much one for television at the best of times, but I can’t imagine that a report of a has-been monarch relation from a small island in Europe would filter through the Japanese news system in a form I could comprehend anyway. When did she die? Or was it a long time ago and I forgot?

  Visiting the East End, and doing that “smile’n’wave” combo, I think. But probably mostly going “Haha, you got bombed out and we didn’t”.

    Except actually, the Palace did get hit. Obviously they didn’t quite get bombed out, but she did say at the time that she felt she could look people from the East End in the eye now.

      Yeah, I was living in Northampton at the time, so that’d be about right…
      
      I can thoroughly recommend not paying any attention to the media, apart from the occasional ‘dumbass’ moments when you have to ask ‘who is our prime minister, anyway?’ there is so much to be gained by not knowing anything about what is going on in the world. If its important I’ll get to hear about it, maybe a little later than everyone else, but thats OK.
