A digital misfit

Brilliant, just listening to the bizarre Finnish rock compilation I bought last week, its got a local language version of “You’re in the army now”

Catching up on everything now – I’ve got a pile of paperwork six inches high and hirez keeps pointing out things like this (retro handsfree) and this (home of a polyphon, amongst other things). And, just to demonstrate I can use the interweb without the help of an adult, there are some see-through-ables over here, developed by a JTech university, will have to figure out where they are and pop by if I get a chance.

Dead but dreaming – resurrections

Urgh, I finally get to sleep after being only half awake all of yesterday and something (I assume an earthquake, but don’t know – they’re always over by the time I wake up, unless they’re quite big) wakes me up after two hours. And I seem to have started dreaming again. Which I think is a bad thing.

Back at work to discover that Chris T. has joined us for a few months – which was a pleasant surprise, I’d not expected to see him again but was half hoping to catch up with him upon getting back to England.

And the latest Fields of the Nephilim album is brilliant (Fallen, is that the latest? I’ve kinda been out the loop a little lately) – it combines all the good bits of their sound before and during the metal daze.

In for the long haul…

I survived Finland. Back in Tokyo, fighting off sleepiness until its a sensible time to go to bed. Relatively uneventful journey home, minor delays waiting for some connecting passengers from Manchester and a bit of turbulence.

Got back and the first thing I did was watch the video of “Wynonas big brown beaver” (if you don’t know what I’m talking about take a look here or here)

More details later, once I’ve rested enough that my fingers work on the keys.

The wisdom of hindsight

…well its more like insight since the experience hasnt finished yet. ive made it to the departure lounge. no delay advertised yet but theres still an hour til takeoff. nothing more to report now except that there seems a chance ill sleep on the plane.

What a mess…

Following (nearly) everyones advice I’m aiming to stay all night at Midnight Mess and get straight on the plane tomorrow. I’m not sure how wise this is. In fact, I’m reasonably sure it isn’t very wise at all. But thats not going to stop me. I’ll call it research into jetlag reduction. Or something.

I doubt I’ll have much time to update before Copenhagen, at which point I’ll be frantically seeking distraction for the four hour wait before onward flight to Tampere. I hope they’ve (un)wired Denmark. Beyond that I’m likely to be busybusybusy.

Given that I am flying to Copenhagen on Sunday, then on to Tampere, what should I do about going to Midnight Mess tomorrow night? I’d like to go since its one of the most enjoyable clubs here in Tokyo, but equally I don’t want to miss my flight on Sunday morning – I have to be at Shinjuku station at 9:20am, a time which only actually exists on Sunday as a part of Saturday night or a part of the kind of journey that gives you jetlag.
