The bridge from Solna over the motorway to Haga parken has memorials to a number of people – Gustav III, Fredrik Magnus Piper, Louis Jean Desprez and Carl Michael Bellman – all influential people in life in the park.

We took the ferry over the water to Norderön.

Further up the road toward Östersund is the Big Moose motel, with the smallest railway station I’ve ever seen.

We went to Östersund again, by car this time though. We stopped for lunch at the weirdest motorway service station I’ve ever seen.

There is a river running through the centre of Uppsala.

Standing above the city of Uppsala is the imposing Slott.

In the grounds of Uppsala Cathedral there are more runestones
