There is still a part of the old ash railway, originally used to transporting the ash from the incinerator, it is driven by one of the stationary engines.

The Cambridge Museum of Technology is housed on the site of the old town incinerator, where the towns rubbish came to be disposed of. The old ash tunnel is now used for storage but some of the boilers are still in use.
