Neil Hopcroft

On the North of Vaxholm are the ruins of an old battery, guarding Stockholm from invaders arriving by sea through the straights near Vaxholm.

We ventured to the north of the Vaxholm peninsular, where we found another secluded harbour area with views across the sea.

We took another trip to Fredriksborg ruin.

We went to play minigolf at Siggesta Gård, and celebrated our survival with an ice cream catapillar.

We went to Mariefred again.

There were some Funny Cars at Fly’n’drive, for a brief drag car show.

There was a meeting of the Corvette Club of Sweden met at Fly’n’drive.

We went to an air and car show at the same airstrip as the Drag Racing a few weeks back.

Gripsholms Slott is on the edge of the small town of Mariefred – we visited the castle last time, but not the town. Its a quaint little town on the waterfront with a view to the castle.

It was nice to see some street cars taking a run on the strip – the 9000s especially made good time, around 12 seconds standing quarter mile is not too shabby for a 10 year old stock car. Though I doubt mine will do that without a little tuning.
